Hi! Thanks for checking out my site! My name is Mike Shaw; I’m your typical, 7th-generation Bostonian from an Irish Catholic family in Dorchester. I have never lived more than 1 mile from the home that I grew up in; I did the 12 years of Catholic school thing (which I’m still recovering from) and stayed in Boston for college. Thanks to a move across the U.S. by a good friend late in high school, I got the travel bug after visiting him in various locales and I’ve never lost it. I’ve been lucky enough to see lots of the world in short visits since those days; maybe that’s why I’ve bucked the ancient family trend and decided to move to the opposite side of the planet. Then again, maybe I’m just a complete and utter maniac. Time will tell.
